If everything looks good bolt them back in, don’t forget to put the gaskets on the tail lamps, and you’ve got yourself some “JDM” tails. This Leaves the circle as the running lights.īefore reinstalling everything plug the wiring harness into the car and just set them into where they are bolted in and set up your phone to record you testing the lights or have a friend test them for you while you watch. The other two get the same single filament bulb causing them to both be only brake lights (7440). Then on to the bottom three, the circle running light gets the LED bulb I said to get earlier.

Once everything fits right take the top two sockets out and install the turn signal and reverse bulb. You my need to loosen the tape on some of the harness to get this all to fit THATS OK. The brown socket with the red tape needs to go on the inner most part of the housing, the light gray socket with the black and white with black strip wires goes all the way to the outside and the last one with yellow tape goes in the center of them. the reverse is inside, signal is outside. The top of the headlight will be the turn signal and the reverse light.
For me some of the sockets wouldn’t go into the housing so best to test fit everything first then trim some plastic if necessary then put the bulbs in after. Pull the carpet back and to make things easier for yourself take both tail lamps out of the car by loosening the 4 nuts with your 8mm socket and disconnect the wiring harness. Remove the two clips holding the carpet to the rear body panel.

So I couldn’t find exactly what I wanted online for a guide on how to do this mod but I decided I would just jump in and figure it out myself and help others who are looking to get this exact same JDM look on their Hawkeye WRX.
